The investigation into the disappearance of Nancy Guthrie took a chilling turn Tuesday after a purported ransom note was delivered to TMZ. The message, which demands millions of dollars in Bitcoin, threatens the 84-year-old’s life if a strict payment deadline isn’t met.

While the Pima County Sheriff’s Department acknowledges they are aware of “possible ransom notes” circulating, they have stopped short of confirming whether this specific demand is a legitimate lead or a cruel hoax.

Nancy, the mother of “Today” show host Savannah Guthrie, vanished from her Tucson home late Saturday night. The situation has grown increasingly desperate as investigators revealed she was taken without essential medication she requires every 24 hours.

Compounding the urgency, data from her pacemaker reportedly stopped syncing with her devices around 2:00 a.m. Sunday, roughly five hours after she was last seen being dropped off by family.

Sheriff Chris Nanos has remained guarded, refusing to comment on specific suspects or the details of the TMZ note, which allegedly contains specific information about the crime scene.

Previous reports indicate that investigators found blood and signs of forced entry at the residence, prompting the FBI to join the search.

As the clock ticks, authorities maintain that they are pursuing every available tip to bring Nancy home safely.
