Cyber Tip Triggers Arrest: Seminole Man Charged With Possessing Explicit Images Of Young Children

SEMINOLE, Fla. — A 56-year-old Seminole resident is behind bars facing multiple felony charges after an internet tip led investigators to a stash of illegal materials. Detectives with the Crimes Against Children Unit (CAC) arrested Carlos Castellanos Gomez on Wednesday, concluding an investigation into the possession of child pornography.

Authorities launched the probe after receiving a tip that illicit materials were being accessed online. Investigators utilized digital tracking techniques to identify Gomez as the suspect behind the activity.

According to the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office, the investigation revealed images involving victims between the ages of 4 and 11.

Gomez, a resident of an apartment complex at 6401 Seminole Boulevard, was taken into custody on January 7, 2026. He has been charged with 10 counts of Possession of Child Pornography. Following his arrest, he was transported to the Pinellas County Jail for booking.

Officials stated that the investigation is ongoing.
