WESLEY CHAPEL, Fla. – A 13-year-old student at Cypress Creek Middle School was arrested Friday after making written threats to kill, according to the Pasco Sheriff’s Office (PSO).

The Sheriff’s Office confirmed the arrest but stressed that there is currently no public safety threat to Cypress Creek Middle School.

Following the investigation, PSO issued a strong reminder to the community regarding the seriousness of such actions.

“PSO reminds parents, guardians and students about the consequences of making threats, which can include possible legal ramifications, including arrest,” the office stated in a release. “We want to take this opportunity to remind all students and families that threats of violence, even hoax threats, are taken extremely seriously.”

The agency urged parents and guardians to speak with their children about the severe consequences of making threats, emphasizing that all threats, regardless of intent, are thoroughly investigated and can lead to criminal charges and arrest.
