Dade City Driver Involved In Fatal US-301 Pedestrian Crash In Pasco County

PASCO COUNTY, Fla. – A fatal traffic accident involving a vehicle and a pedestrian occurred at 9:00 PM on Monday, February 16, 2026, in Pasco County. According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the incident took place on northbound US-301, south of the intersection at Ruth Avenue.

The driver of the vehicle, identified as a 73-year-old male from Dade City, was traveling north in a Jeep Cherokee. Troopers say the vehicle struck an unidentified adult male who was walking within the travel lanes of the roadway.

Emergency responders confirmed the pedestrian sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver remained at the site and provided a statement to law enforcement. The Florida Highway Patrol has not released the name of the deceased.
