Dade City Man Dies In Overnight SR-44 Rollover Crash In Sumter County

SUMTER COUNTY, Fla. – A Dade City man was killed late Thursday night after his SUV overturned on State Road 44, according to a report released by the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP).

The fatal single-vehicle crash occurred at approximately 9:20 PM near the intersection of NW 38th Street.

The FHP report indicates that a 40-year-old Dade City man was driving a GMC Yukon westbound on SR-44. For reasons currently under investigation, the driver lost control of the vehicle as he approached NW 38th Street.

The SUV overturned, and the driver was subsequently ejected onto the roadway. He suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the crash scene.
