SUMTER COUNTY, Fla. – A 17-year-old male from Dade City was killed and five other people, including two toddlers, were injured in a single-vehicle rollover crash Thursday night.
The incident occurred at approximately 9:00 PM on November 6, 2025.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a Chevy Silverado was traveling eastbound on Center Grade Road, east of CR-471, at a high rate of speed. The driver lost control of the vehicle, which then veered onto the left shoulder and overturned.
As the truck overturned, both the 17-year-old driver and the 18-year-old female front passenger were ejected from the vehicle. Both were transported to an area hospital, where the driver later died from his injuries.
Four other passengers were in the rear of the vehicle: an 18-year-old female, a 16-year-old male, a 2-year-old female, and a 1-year-old male. All four suffered non-life-threatening injuries and were also transported to a local hospital for treatment.
All six occupants of the vehicle were listed as residents of Dade City.
