Daily Wire Announces $100M Investment In Kids’ Programming To Counter Disney

The conservative news website Daily Wire has announced that it will spend upward of $100 million to offer family-oriented entertainment to counter the wokeness distributed by Disney.

Daily Wire is planning to spend $100 million over the next three years on children’s programming, which will be augmented by another $100 million funneled toward adult shows.

Boreing noted the company passed $100 million in revenue last year. It is finding new ventures that are succeeding. And the main reason is that the company was willing to compete with liberal firms.

Now, he added, it was time to “make something completely new” that is rooted in American traditions and values.

“We’re just not going to put up with it anymore,” he said of the left’s assaults on American culture, history, and conservative beliefs. “We’re going to build a future.”

“They keep tearing our culture apart, and paying no economic consequence,” Boreing added. “The hubris of the left has created an infinite sea of opportunity for us to go build new institutions, new corporations.”

Boreing said the DW Kids had been on the drawing board for months, and the company wanted to get past other projects for announcing it.

Yet Disney forced its hand to launch early. “We want to say there is an alternative coming,” Boreing said.

Some of the motivation was supplied by opposition from Disney, and the broader left, to Florida’s Parental Rights in Education law. The law prohibits school districts and teachers from implementing classroom lessons about sexual orientation and gender identity to students in grades K-3.

But that was also influenced by news this week that Disney executives said they wanted more LGBT characters in their content targeting young children.

Boreing pointed out that Disney spent $25 billion on content in 2021, while Netflix doled out $17 billion.

But for those who argue Daily Wire cannot compete, he added, that money was just spent on “marketing” for coming Daily Wire productions. He said it would take nearly a year before the kids shows would be in full production. 

“Americans are tired of giving their money to woke corporations who hate them,” Boreing added. “They’re tired of giving their money to woke media companies who want to indoctrinate their children with radical race and gender theory.”

“But they want to do more than just cancel them. They want alternatives. The Daily Wire is giving them those alternatives.”

“The magic has left the kingdom. It’s time to build new things we can believe in,” Boreing said.

The Daily Wire was founded as a news website, and has long offered numerous podcasts, led by longtime conservative columnist Ben Shapiro.

The company has expanded into feature films and documentaries, book publishing and even a razor line to counter the grooming company Harry’s.
