POLK COUNTY, Fla. – A terrifying Friday morning ordeal south of Lake Wales involving an alleged armed robbery, kidnapping, and violent battery came to an end when Polk County Sheriff’s Office (PCSO) deputies apprehended a suspect with a lengthy criminal history.

The incident occurred on Friday, October 31st, when PCSO deputies responded to a reported armed robbery near the intersection of County Road 640 and US 27, just south of Lake Wales.

According to the victim’s report, the assault began when they were struck with a blunt object, held captive inside a vehicle, and threatened with a wrench before their personal property was stolen. The victim was able to make a daring escape through the passenger window and immediately contacted the Sheriff’s Office.
