In a massive shake-up of the digital news landscape, NewsNation has officially cracked the top tier of news publishers on YouTube, proving that age is just a number when it comes to viral growth.
According to a new report from Press Gazette, the upstart network has landed at #74 on the list of the world’s leading English-language news publishers, a feat made even more impressive by the fact that the channel only launched four years ago in May 2022.
Despite being the newest name in the Top 75, NewsNation is already punching well above its weight class. The network has racked up nearly 2 billion views since its debut, effectively outpacing some of the most established names in American journalism.
While legacy outlets like The New York Times, The Washington Post, and CBS’s 60 Minutes have been on the platform for roughly two decades, NewsNation’s 1.8 billion views have already surpassed their lifetime totals.

For perspective, the New York Times has pulled in 1.36 billion views since 2005, and the Washington Post sits at 1.66 billion despite a 14-year head start.
The growth isn’t just limited to views; the network’s subscriber count is also climbing the ranks. With 2.7 million subscribers, NewsNation has edged out long-standing competitors such as The Guardian, Newsmax, and the New York Post.
It also currently holds a larger following than Bloomberg News and the CBS Evening News.
As the fastest-growing cable news network in both total day and primetime, NewsNation’s inclusion in the Press Gazette report highlights a significant shift in how audiences are consuming daily reporting.
By cracking 1.8 billion views in just 48 months, the network has cemented itself as a dominant force in the digital space, proving that an “upstart” can quickly become a leader in the race for the public’s attention.
