TAMPA, Fla. – A verbal argument between two acquaintances turned violent late Sunday night in West Tampa, leaving one woman dead and another injured. Tampa Police are currently investigating the fatal altercation, which took place on the 1500 block of West Chestnut Street just before 10 p.m.
Officers responding to the scene found a woman in her mid-30s suffering from a deep laceration to her arm. She was transported to a local hospital for treatment of the non-life-threatening injury and has since been released.
A second woman involved in the fight had already been driven to the hospital by a private vehicle before law enforcement arrived.

The woman, identified only as being in her early 30s, was admitted in critical condition with multiple stab wounds. Authorities confirmed she later died from her injuries.
Investigators say the two women knew each other and described the event as an isolated incident with no ongoing threat to the general public. While preliminary information indicates the physical fight stemmed from a verbal dispute, detectives are still working to verify the exact timeline of events.
The Tampa Police Department is currently consulting with the State Attorney’s Office to determine whether criminal charges will be filed. The investigation remains active.
