TAMPA, Fla. — A fatal shooting is under investigation in Tampa after a physical fight between two acquaintances turned deadly on Thursday afternoon.

Police were called to the 4100 block of Charter Oak Court just after 3:30 p.m. following reports that a person had been shot. When officers arrived at the scene, they found an adult male suffering from gunshot wounds. He had already succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to early findings by detectives, the violence appears to have stemmed from an earlier altercation. Police determined the victim and the shooter knew each other and had been involved in a physical fight just before the gun was fired.
