A Kentucky man who spent years evading justice for the sexual assault of a Michigan teenager will now spend up to 30 years in prison. Justine Bradley Miller, 35, of Louisville, was sentenced on April 30 by visiting Judge Charles Hamlyn in Wexford County’s 28th Circuit Court.
The sentence follows Miller’s January guilty plea to first-degree and third-degree criminal sexual conduct, as well as child sexually abusive activity.
The case dates back to the fall of 2016, when Miller began assaulting a 15-year-old girl in Wexford County. Investigators from the Cadillac Police Department and the Michigan State Police Computer Crimes Unit found that Miller also exchanged sexually explicit photos and videos with the minor.
While the Wexford County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office filed charges in October 2017, Miller remained at large for over seven years.

His run ended in January 2025 when he was tracked down in Kentucky and extradited to Michigan.
The arrest was a result of “Operation Survivor Justice,” a collaborative effort between the Michigan Department of Attorney General, local prosecutors, and the U.S. Marshals Service specifically designed to hunt down fugitives with outstanding sexual assault warrants.
Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel noted the significant delay in the legal process following the sentencing. “After 10 years, I hope this sentence brings the survivor in this case the closure she deserves,” Nessel said. “Victims should not have to wait this long for justice.”
During the proceedings, the survivor addressed the court and her attacker directly through a victim impact statement. She described the weight of carrying the secret for a decade and her intent to remain vocal about the abuse.
“I am not the same girl you knew, and most importantly, I became someone who would have protected a child like me,” she stated. While she noted she forgave him, she clarified that the gesture was not one of leniency. “If the day comes that another girl speaks out about you, I will be right next to her helping her voice be heard.”
Judge Hamlyn ordered Miller to serve a term of 17 to 30 years. The court further mandated that upon his eventual release from prison, Miller will be placed under lifetime electronic monitoring and must comply with lifetime sex offender registration requirements.
