Democratic Group Based In Florida Floods Local Communities With Fake News

In an effort to boost the Democrats’ chances of keeping the majority in Congress, a left-wing group in Orlando is flooding communities across the country with Democratic propaganda disguised as local news.

In an effort to boost the Democrats’ chances of keeping the majority in Congress, a left-wing group in Orlando is flooding communities across the country with Democratic propaganda disguised as local news.

Surprisingly reported by the liberal website Axios, the report indicates Democratic operatives are pushing a “sprawling network of ostensible local media outlets churning out Democrat-aligned news content in midterm battleground states.”

The group behind the fake news is named Local Report Inc., which was formed in August 2021.

Local Report, according to Axios, has established at least 51 “locally branded” news websites in key swing states.

The premise is that “(b)ehind the patina of independent local news, these sites are pumping out content designed to put a sheen of original reporting on partisan messaging.”

“Each follows a similar template: aggregated local news content and short write-ups about local sports teams and attractions — interspersed with heavily slanted political news aimed at boosting Democratic midterm candidates and attacking Republican opponents,” Axios continued.

Under names like the Milwaukee Metro Times, Mecklenburg Herald, Tri-City Record, Bucks County Standard, and Northern Clark County Herald, the websites focus on promoting liberal candidates in Arizona, Colorado, Georgia, Michigan, New Hampshire, Nevada, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and Wisconsin.

The relationship is symbiotic, though, as Democrats and party advocates promote the stories as credible news reporting.

For example, Georgia Democrat Stacey Abrams has touted Local Report’s alleged “news” as a way to attack her opponent, incumbent Republican Gov. Brian Kemp.

The operation also has roots in Washington.

Axios noted that the mastheads of these supposedly local news websites mention the aid of the American Independent, another left-wing operation.

Six of that group’s “reporters” are responsible for churning out almost all of the content used by the Local Report sites, Axios reported.

The American Independent was founded by Democratic operative David Brock, who also founded the left-wing smear campaign known as Media Matters for America, and is run by Matt Fuehrmeyer, a former senior aide at the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee and to Harry Reid, the late former Senate Democratic leader. The group’s executive editor is Jessica McCreight, who was once part of former President Barack Obama’s communications organization.

In response to the mainlining of fake news by Local Report, Nathan Brand, spokesman for the Republican National Committee, told The Daily Caller, “Democrats’ ideas are so unpopular and so out-of-touch that they have to build an entire network of propaganda sites to try to mislead voters.”
