A 20-year-old wanted man is behind bars in Florida after a traffic stop uncovered two handguns, a Rolex watch, and stolen jewelry, leading state probation officials to formally recognize local deputies for the arrest.
The Florida Department of Corrections Probation and Parole commended the Nassau County Sheriff’s Office Fugitive Apprehension Unit (FAU) after deputies tracked down Kennari Satrell Brown, who was wanted on multiple probation violations and linked to open robbery cases across the state line in Georgia.
Probation officers initially reached out to the FAU on July 27. Brown was supposed to be living at his home in Yulee, Florida, but records showed he had repeatedly crossed county and state lines without permission since February. During those trips, police in Kingsland, Georgia, had cited him for traffic infractions.
Investigators also found social media posts that showed Brown holding and aiming firearms at the camera, directly violating conditions that legally barred him from possessing any weapons.
With Brown facing active probation violations and potential ties to Georgia robberies, the FAU launched a targeted search. The following day, on July 28, deputies spotted Brown’s car, pulled the vehicle over, and placed him under arrest without incident.
A subsequent search of the vehicle turned up two firearms along with the high-end watch and assorted jewelry suspected to be stolen merchandise.
“Our Fugitive Apprehension Unit works closely with law enforcement agencies throughout the region to locate individuals who are wanted and hold them accountable. In this case, our deputies helped track down a suspect wanted for multiple probation violations who was also believed to be connected to ongoing robberies in Georgia. This is exactly why partnerships between law enforcement agencies are so important,” Sheriff Bill Leeper said. “When we work together and share information, we can locate potentially dangerous individuals and help keep our communities safe, regardless of county or state lines.”
Deputies transported Brown to the Nassau County Jail & Detention Center, where he remains held on charges tied to his probation violations.
