MONROE COUNTY, Fla. – Authorities are investigating after the body of an adult man was found floating Tuesday afternoon in the waters of Boot Key Harbor.
According to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office, a passerby spotted the remains around 3:15 p.m. on Aug. 25 near Channel Marker 16.
Sheriff’s Office detectives responded to the scene and are actively working to identify the man.
Investigators noted that foul play does not appear to be a factor in the death.
An official cause of death has not yet been determined, and autopsy results remain pending with the medical examiner’s office.
