Deputies Swarm Plant City High After “Suspicious” Call Triggers Evacuation

PLANT CITY, Fla. – The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office responded to Plant City High School today following a suspicious phone call that prompted a swift law enforcement mobilization.

Deputies arrived on campus during the school day to investigate the nature of the call. In response to the potential threat, school administrators and law enforcement ordered a full evacuation of the building.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, the decision to remove students and faculty from the premises was made “out of an abundance of caution.”

After a thorough sweep of the property, officials determined it was safe for occupants to head back inside. Students and staff are now returning to the school, the Sheriff’s Office stated.
