DeSantis Extends Eviction, Foreclosure Moratorium Sept. 1

TAMPA, Fla. – Wednesday evening, Gov. Ron DeSantis signed an extension to the executive order, temporarily suspending all evictions and foreclosures for non-payment related to COVID-19. The order now expires Sept. 1, 2020.

.Back on July 17th, Gov. DeSantis announced $75m for rent and mortgage assistance for Florida residents.

Gov. DeSantis said, “Hundreds of thousands of Floridians who may have already had difficulty making ends meet, and are now suffering, even more, losing a job, not being able to find a job, having to figure out how to pay for child care while schools are in distance learning, this has been had a profound disruption to people’s lives, and we have the responsibility to help those in need, in this regard.”
