HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. – A detention deputy cadet with the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office is behind bars following an arrest in Pasco County on Sunday evening.
The Zephyrhills Police Department reported that officers were dispatched to the 6800 block of Shelby Lynn Way at 5:31 p.m. on Sunday. Upon arrival and completion of their initial investigation, police arrested Ivan Feliciano Heredia on a charge of Domestic Violence Battery.
Records show that Heredia is a relatively new hire with the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office, having started his employment as a cadet on December 8, 2025.
In a statement released following the arrest, Sheriff Chad Chronister addressed the situation directly, emphasizing that the agency expects professional behavior from all staff members.

“This behavior is unacceptable and does not reflect the values of the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office,” Chronister said. “We hold every member of this agency to the highest standards of conduct, regardless of their tenure. Let me be clear: no one is above the law, and any individual who violates it will be held fully accountable.”
Because the incident occurred within the jurisdiction of Zephyrhills, the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office has referred all specific inquiries regarding the circumstances of the battery or the ongoing investigation to the Zephyrhills Police Department.
