DAVENPORT, Fla. – Two roommates in Davenport are behind bars this week after a digital investigation by the Polk County Sheriff’s Office uncovered a massive collection of illicit material and evidence of animal abuse.
Detectives with the Cyber Crimes Unit arrested 25-year-old Jefferey Johnston and 24-year-old Ryan Braley following a search of their Castlemain Circle residence that linked the pair to the possession and distribution of illegal content.
The investigation was sparked by a cybertip that flagged several files being uploaded and shared from the home’s IP address.

This led detectives to secure a search warrant for a Google account belonging to Johnston. Upon reviewing the digital data, investigators reportedly discovered more than 300 files showing the sexual abuse of children ranging in age from 1 year old to 12 years old.
During the same sweep, authorities found a separate video depicting a man sexually abusing a medium-sized, brown brindle dog. Detectives later identified the man in that video as Braley.
On February 10, 2026, law enforcement arrived at the home to conduct interviews. Johnston admitted to owning the Google account and possessing the files, further stating that Braley had filmed the video with the dog inside their shared residence and sent it to him.

The dog, which belongs to other people living in the house, was removed from the property and taken to a local veterinarian for a medical evaluation.
Johnston now faces 51 counts of second-degree felony possession of child pornography and a third-degree felony charge for possessing video of sexual activity involving animals.
Braley was booked on charges of animal cruelty, engaging in sexual contact with an animal, and filming that contact. Both men were processed into the Polk County Jail as the investigation concluded.
