A 44-year-old man, Tshikundi Taty of Takoma Park, Maryland, has been arrested after allegedly disguising himself in a wig and women’s clothing to film women in multiple gym locker rooms.
The arrest follows an extensive investigation that began on October 10 when Montgomery County Police responded to a complaint at a One Life Fitness Club in Germantown. A woman reported that an individual had recorded her in the shower inside the women’s locker room.
Police determined that Taty would allegedly use the disguise—which included a long dark wig, sunglasses, a face covering, and a hot pink hooded sweatshirt, according to police-shared images—to gain entry. He would then reportedly remove the clothing after the crime in an attempt to conceal his identity and flee the scene.
On Wednesday, October 29, officers followed Taty to a Planet Fitness in White Oak, where he was found inside the women’s locker room disguised as a woman and subsequently taken into custody.
Taty was transported to the Montgomery County Central Processing Unit and has been charged with multiple counts. Detectives believe there may be additional victims and are urging anyone with information to come forward.
