No Horsing Around, Disney Had an Interesting Day

ORLANDO Fla. – The opening day of Disney was met with controversy over the rising cases of COVID-19 in Florida and whether or not the park should even be open at all.

However, between a bucking bronco and the evacuation of Splash Mountain, Disney had its plate full of surprises for guests.

As Dr. Disney @doctor_disney explains, “Merida’s horse became spooked big time and began rearing up and spinning. A balloon was wrapped around the back legs of the poor animal, and Merida was holding on tight, and she ducked down the alley on Main Street and backstage. Other Cast Members held strong to the reigns and calmed the horse down as a manager rushed out as well.”

No one was injured thankfully.

And, Splash Mountain shut down at the peak ride, while riders had to be evacuated.

Disney said in a post on WDW News, “Members of our team happened to be on the attraction, getting ready to crest the final lift hill and make the terrifying drop into the briar patch, when the emergency lights turned on and all motion stopped. After waiting for several minutes, an announcement came over the loudspeaker notifying guests that a Cast Member would be there soon to help assist them with evacuating the ride.”
