Preliminary findings suggest the shooting was not a random act of violence. Detectives believe the two men were known to each other and that the incident likely stemmed from an altercation that occurred between them this past Friday.
The investigation caused significant disruptions to the morning commute. Westbound traffic along Kennedy Blvd was diverted to allow detectives to process the scene, and officials requested that travelers seek alternate routes.
Police stated that the investigation remains active and ongoing as they continue to gather evidence regarding the lead-up to the shooting.
