LARGO, Fla. – A 21-year-old man is facing charges of DUI Manslaughter following a high-speed, single-vehicle crash early Sunday morning that left his 18-year-old passenger dead.
The Largo Police Department confirmed that officers responded to the scene on 58th Street North. Preliminary reports indicate the driver, identified as Arael Vaquero, was traveling southbound on 58th Street North at a high rate of speed when his vehicle struck two fixed objects.
The passenger, 18-year-old David Salazar-Castillo, was pronounced deceased at the scene. Vaquero sustained injuries in the crash and was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

Following an initial investigation, authorities determined that impairment is believed to be a contributing factor in the fatal incident.
Arael Vaquero has subsequently been charged with DUI Manslaughter.
