The incident began around midnight when a Polk County Sheriff’s deputy noticed Lang’s silver Ford Fiesta speeding southbound on US 27 near the Out-N-About Bar in Dundee. Lang then pulled into a nearby gas station, where the deputy discovered the vehicle had an expired tag and that Lang’s license was suspended.

While waiting to confirm Lang was the driver, the deputy observed him exit the store, get into his car, and speed away, weaving recklessly through traffic. The deputy initiated a traffic stop, but Lang initially refused to exit the vehicle.

Upon assisting Lang out of the car, the deputy observed signs of impairment, including slurred speech and bloodshot eyes. Lang’s behavior reportedly alternated between cooperation and argumentativeness.

Lang was subsequently arrested and transported to the Polk County Jail, where he was booked on multiple charges.
