HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. – Early voting for the 2026 primary election opens Monday, Aug. 3, giving Hillsborough County voters two full weeks to cast their ballots in person ahead of Election Day.
Polling places will operate daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. through Sunday, Aug. 16. Registered voters can choose from 27 early voting sites located throughout the county. Unlike Election Day, when residents must vote at their specific assigned precinct, voters may visit any of the designated early voting locations during this period.
Officials noted one change to this year’s location lineup. The SouthShore Regional Library, a high-traffic site in past elections, is unavailable due to ongoing building renovations. To accommodate voters in that area, a new site has been opened at the SouthShore Community Resource Center, located at 201 14th Ave. SE in Ruskin. The SouthShore Regional Service Center is also available as an alternative in south county.
Each early voting site will feature a Secure Ballot Intake Station where voters can drop off completed Vote-By-Mail ballots.
For those who have not yet requested a mail ballot, the deadline to submit a request is 5 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 6. Requests can be completed online at VoteHillsborough.gov or by calling (813) 612-4180.
“We are a large county, and I want our voters to have plenty of options to cast their ballot,” Hillsborough County Supervisor of Elections Craig Latimer said in a statement. “I keep Early Voting open for the maximum number of days allowed by law, including two full weekends.”
Voters checking in at early voting sites must present a valid Florida driver’s license or another approved form of photo and signature identification.
