HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. – Hillsborough County election officials are encouraging residents to take advantage of weekend voting options as early voting continues across the area for the 2026 primary election.
Supervisor of Elections Craig Latimer issued a reminder to local voters urging them to cast their ballots early, either in person or through mail-in options.
“I’m encouraging voters to cast their ballot, whether in person or by mail, as soon as possible,” Latimer said. “I don’t like to see anyone miss their chance to vote.”
In-person early voting is available daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. through August 16 at 27 locations throughout Hillsborough County. Registered voters can cast their ballot at any designated early voting site during this period, regardless of their home precinct. Voters must bring acceptable photo and signature identification to check in. Wait times, location lists, and required identification details are available on VoteHillsborough.gov.
Ballot options depend on registered party affiliation, with voters receiving either a Democratic, Republican, or nonpartisan ballot.
All versions feature nonpartisan judicial and school board races. Select ballots also include Universal Primary Contests, which occur when all candidates in a race belong to the same political party and face no opposition in the upcoming general election. Registered voters can look up sample ballots online prior to voting.
For those choosing to vote by mail, completed ballots must be received at one of the five Hillsborough County Supervisor of Elections offices no later than 7 p.m. on Election Day to be counted.
Mail ballots cannot be turned in at Election Day polling places. However, voters can hand-deliver mail-in ballots to Secure Ballot Intake Stations located at election offices or inside any active early voting site during operating hours.
Real-time turnout statistics are available to the public. Unofficial voter turnout figures are tracked on the 2026 Primary Election page at VoteHillsborough.gov, with updates posted throughout the day broken down by voting method, political party, precinct, location, and date.
