TAMPA, Fla. — A portion of East Hanna Avenue between North 19th Street and North 20th Street has been completely closed to traffic as the Tampa Water Department carries out a permanent repair following an earlier water main break.
Local authorities have installed barricades and directional signage in the immediate area to help guide motorists around the active work site. Drivers traveling through the vicinity are advised to proceed with caution, as traffic flow modifications could change as the job progresses.
City officials expect the repair work to wrap up and normal traffic patterns to resume by 4:30 p.m. tomorrow, July 24. However, crews noted that timelines remain contingent on weather conditions and that additional maintenance could be required in the future.
“The Tampa Water Department may need to return at a later date to complete additional work,” the department stated, adding that an update would be released if further closures are required. “The staff and crews of the Tampa Water Department appreciate everyone’s patience during this time.”
