TARPON SPRINGS – A 15-year-old student at East Lake High School was arrested on Monday, September 22, 2025, after allegedly posting written threats to commit a mass shooting. The Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office reported that Victoria Keene was taken into custody by the Threat Management Division.

The arrest came after detectives were alerted to a Snapchat and a group chat message sent by Keene. In the messages, the teen reportedly wrote, “Everyone is incompetent imbecile and everyone is getting shot.”

According to the Sheriff’s Office, when detectives made contact with Keene, she admitted to sending the messages. She claimed the posts were a joke and were made out of frustration because she was not allowed to leave school early.

Despite her claim that the threats were not serious, Keene was arrested and charged with one count of Written Threats to Kill or Conduct a Mass Shooting.

The Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office emphasized its commitment to school safety and urged anyone with information about potential threats to report them immediately.
