HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. – The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a Davis Elementary School teacher for driving while under the influence early Sunday morning.
On Sunday, at 1:33 a.m., deputies conducted a traffic stop in Tampa. During the interaction, deputies noticed signs of impairment in the driver, identified as 35-year-old Jacob Cohen.
While Cohen agreed to perform field sobriety exercises, deputies reported that he continued to show multiple indicators of impairment throughout the evaluation. Cohen subsequently refused to provide a breath sample.
Cohen was transported to jail and faces charges of Driving Under the Influence and Refusal to Submit to Testing.

“Driving under the influence is a dangerous and reckless decision that puts lives at risk,” said Sheriff Chad Chronister. “As someone entrusted with shaping young minds in our community, this behavior is especially concerning. We will continue to hold individuals accountable and remain committed to keeping our roads safe.”
The investigation into the incident remains active.
