Fifty-two-year-old Christopher Allen Ross of Orlando, Florida, may not look like a speed demon in his mug shot, but his alleged actions on Wednesday night suggest otherwise, landing him behind bars on reckless driving and resisting without violence charges.

According to the Polk County Sheriff’s Office (PCSO), a deputy saw Ross’ red Kia Soul just after 10 p.m. on Wednesday, October 22nd, in the area of US 27 and La Case del Sol Boulevard in Haines City. The vehicle was reportedly traveling at a high rate of speed and making multiple sudden lane changes.

The deputy’s radar confirmed the Kia’s excessive speed, clocking it at 73 mph in a posted 55 mph zone.

A traffic stop was initiated, and the deputy made contact with the driver, identified as Christopher Allen Ross. When questioned about his driving, Ross offered a frank, and highly unusual, explanation for his dangerous maneuvers.

Ross allegedly told the deputy that his reckless driving was a “f— you!” to other drivers on the road for going “so slow.”

Following the admission, Ross was placed under arrest. The PCSO report indicates that Ross was uncooperative with the deputy during the arrest process.

He was transported to the Sheriff’s Processing Center and officially charged with Reckless Driving and Resisting without Violence.
