PASCO COUNTY, Fla. – Hudson High School and Hudson Academy were placed under a temporary “controlled campus” status early Monday as the Pasco Sheriff’s Office investigated a potential security threat.
Law enforcement officials confirmed that the measure was taken out of an abundance of caution while deputies worked to verify the validity of a threat directed at both campuses.
Following a thorough investigation on the ground, the Pasco Sheriff’s Office determined that the threat was unfounded. Despite the all-clear on any immediate danger, the schools have transitioned to an “alert campus” status as a continuing precaution. This allows the school day to proceed while maintaining a heightened level of awareness.
The Pasco Sheriff’s Office issued a statement to reassure parents and the community, noting that “there is no safety threat to Hudson High School or Hudson Academy.”
While the immediate crisis has been resolved, investigators are still working to identify the original source of the unfounded claims.
Local authorities have not released specific details regarding the nature of the threat but emphasized that the safety of students and staff remains the priority as the investigation continues.
