A 34-year-old Colorado man will never leave prison after a jury convicted him of killing another man during a family dispute that spiraled out of control last summer.
On Friday, following a weeklong trial, a jury found Isaiah Loader guilty of first-degree murder for the death of Vincent Ramirez.
The verdict led to an immediate sentence from Weld County District Judge Vincente Vigil, who ordered Loader to serve life in prison without the possibility of parole, the mandatory penalty under state law.

The case dates back to the early morning hours of July 30, 2025. Greeley police officers were called to a home on 7th Street Road around 2:45 a.m. after reports of gunfire. When they arrived at the scene, roughly 55 miles north of Denver, they found Ramirez lying in the front yard with a gunshot wound.
Though officers and paramedics attempted to save his life, he was pronounced dead shortly after arriving at North Colorado Medical Center.
While Loader and Ramirez were not related, the Weld County District Attorney’s Office stated the violence was sparked by a “family disagreement.” According to evidence presented during the trial, a verbal and physical fight broke out between the two men. Rather than walking away, prosecutors said Loader left the scene to arm himself with a gun before returning to the residence to shoot Ramirez.
Investigators confirmed the shooting took place in the yard where Ramirez was discovered. While the specific details of what started the initial argument remain unclear, officials noted the situation escalated with startling speed.

“This was a horrible, senseless crime,” Deputy District Attorney Timothy McCormack said during the sentencing hearing on Tuesday. “This could have been prevented. But instead, this defendant decided to take matters into his own hands and chose to go and get a gun after a verbal and physical altercation between him and the victim.”
