TAMPA, Fla. – A tragic crash on Tuesday morning claimed the life of a 6-year-old child and injured a mother and her other child at the intersection of Mohr Road and Sheldon Road in Tampa.

The incident occurred at approximately 7:38 a.m., when deputies from the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) responded to a call reporting a vehicle-versus-pedestrian crash.

Upon arrival, deputies found a family of three—a woman and her two children—suffering from injuries. HCSO personnel immediately began rendering aid and called for emergency medical services (EMS).

Despite life-saving efforts, the 6-year-old child tragically died from their injuries at the scene.

The mother and her other child were transported to a local hospital. Officials have confirmed that their injuries are non-life-threatening. The driver of the vehicle was also transported to the hospital.

The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office has secured the scene, and the investigation into the cause of the fatal crash is ongoing.
