GIBSONTON, Fla. – A 30-year-old woman died in a crash Sunday afternoon on U.S. Highway 41 at Gibsonton Drive, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The accident happened around 2:45 p.m.
Troopers said ‘the car she was riding in, as a passenger, was heading south when its driver, a 25-year old man, somehow lost control of the car. It drove onto the sidewalk, hit a light pole, and crashed into an unoccupied truck.
The front right portion of the car crashed into the truck, troopers said.
Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to the scene with Florida Highway Patrol troopers, helping to keep the roadway closed for hours on Sunday.
