Fatal Accident in Sumter County Friday Night Claims Life of 10-Year-Old

SUMTER COUNTY, Fla. – According to Florida Highway Patrol, an accident on I-75 Friday night, claimed the life on a 10-Year-Old girl from Wildwood City.

Troopers say a car driven by a 55-year-old man from Sarasota was traveling southbound on I-75 in the inside lane at milepost 319, when traffic came to a slow down.

The Sarasota man failed to slow down and collided with a car driven by a 30-year-old man from Wildwood Florida. The victim’s car was propelled into the center median. According to Troopers, once in the median, the car collided with the center median guardrail and overturned during which
time a 10-year-old girl, from Wildwood, was ejected from the vehicle. The adult passenger, a 40-year-old Wildwood woman, suffered serious injuries, while her child suffered fatal injuries at the scene of the crash.
