Tampa Man Killed Following Truck’s Right Turn
TAMPA, Fla. – A 43-year-old Tampa man was killed Monday afternoon in a collision with a semi-tractor while bicycling on the sidewalk parallel to Causeway Boulevard, according to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP).
The incident occurred at approximately 3:54 PM on September 30, 2025, near South 54th Street. FHP reports that a semi-tractor, driven by a 44-year-old Boynton Beach man, was traveling eastbound on Causeway Boulevard. Simultaneously, the Tampa man was operating a bicycle eastbound on the adjacent sidewalk.
The crash took place as the semi-tractor attempted a right turn into a driveway access point at 5403 Causeway Boulevard. The truck reportedly turned directly into the path of the bicyclist, resulting in a collision between the two.
The bicyclist was transported to an area hospital with serious injuries. Tragically, he later succumbed to the injuries sustained in the crash, the FHP confirmed.
The FHP is continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the fatal collision.
