Fatal Fire Rips Through St. Petersburg Home Early Saturday

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – A structure fire near the intersection of 10th Avenue and 17th Street North in St. Petersburg has resulted in one confirmed fatality early Saturday morning.

St. Petersburg Fire Rescue crews were dispatched to the scene at approximately 1:00 AM after receiving reports of the fire. Upon arrival, firefighters encountered a two-story wood-frame structure that was fully engulfed in flames.

Fire crews immediately initiated an aggressive attack to contain the blaze and prevent it from spreading to nearby properties.

While two adults were safely evacuated from the burning structure with no reported injuries, authorities tragically confirmed one death at the scene.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation by fire and law enforcement officials.
