TAMPA, Fla. – The Tampa Police Department (TPD) is currently investigating a fatal traffic accident that occurred this morning in the 2800 block of East Fowler Avenue.
Officers responded to the scene at approximately 9:23 AM following reports of a crash. Upon arrival, police located a seriously injured adult male. Emergency personnel immediately initiated lifesaving measures, but tragically, the victim ultimately succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The immediate area remains an active investigation site. As a result, westbound traffic on East Fowler Avenue was closed to facilitate the ongoing police investigation. All lanes have since reopened.
The cause of the fatal crash is still under active investigation by TPD traffic homicide detectives. Authorities have not yet released any details regarding the nature of the crash or the identity of the deceased male.
