Fatal Motorcycle Crash In Hernando County Claims Life Of Webster Man

Three-vehicle collision occurred Saturday night as Kia turned into the path of a motorcycle

HERNANDO COUNTY, Fla. – A 42-year-old Webster man was killed Saturday night in a three-vehicle crash on US-301 in Hernando County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. The incident, which took place around 7:04 p.m. at the intersection with Whispering Oaks Boulevard, involved a Kia Sorento, a Harley Davidson motorcycle, and a Jeep Cherokee.

According to FHP reports, a Kia Sorento, driven by a 66-year-old Dade City man, was traveling northbound and stopped in the left turn lane.

A Jeep Cherokee, driven by a 44-year-old Ridge Manor woman, was stopped directly behind the Kia. At the same time, a Harley-Davidson motorcycle, operated by the Webster man, was traveling southbound on US-301.

As the Kia began its left turn, it drove directly into the path of the oncoming motorcycle. The motorcycle collided with the Kia, ejecting the rider, who then struck the stopped Jeep. The motorcyclist suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The drivers of the Kia and the Jeep were not injured.
