LAKELAND, Fla. – Florida Highway Patrol reported a single-vehicle fatal crash in the median of SR-570 (Polk Parkway) near mile-marker 6 Sunday afternoon.
According to Troopers, the car was traveling eastbound on SR-570 near mile-marker 6 when the driver lost control of the vehicle. The car entered the median and collided with a traffic sign support pole. The car then rotated, collided with a guardrail. The driver suffered fatal injuries at the scene of the crash and a 29-year-old female passenger from Largo is in critical condition.
