TARPON SPRINGS, Fla. – The Tarpon Springs Police Department has launched an investigation following a double shooting in the 400 block of Lincoln Avenue on Monday afternoon.
Police responded to the scene at approximately 4:05 PM after receiving reports of gunfire. Upon arrival, officers determined that two male victims had already been transported to a local hospital via a personal vehicle rather than by emergency medical services.
Hospital staff pronounced one of the men deceased shortly after arrival. The second victim is currently listed in critical condition. The identities of the individuals involved have not been released pending notification of next of kin.

Investigators characterized the shooting as an isolated event and stated there is “no known threat to the public at this time.” The 400 block of Lincoln Avenue remained cordoned off for several hours as forensic teams processed the scene.
The Tarpon Springs Police Department is actively seeking information regarding the circumstances of the incident. Members of the public are asked to avoid the area while the investigation continues.
