Father Snaps: High-Speed Chase And Swamp Surrender Ends Florida Shooting Rampage

A violent sequence of events ended in a tense woodland standoff Saturday after a Florida man allegedly fired into his ex-girlfriend’s car with his young daughter in tow.

The chaos began around 1:30 a.m. on April 4, when investigators in Osceola County say 27-year-old Josue Emmanuel Figueroa Jr. confronted a woman at a local bar and physically attacked her. Following the initial assault, authorities report that Figueroa harassed the victim over the phone for hours.

The situation escalated at 5:00 a.m. when deputies responded to reports of shots fired.

According to the OCSO, Figueroa tracked the victim to a parking lot on Fortune Road. While the woman sat in her vehicle, Figueroa allegedly opened fire, shooting multiple rounds into the car before physically assaulting her again and stealing her phone.

In a detail that stunned investigators, Figueroa fled the shooting scene with his 4-year-old daughter sitting in the back seat of his vehicle.

The manhunt stretched into the afternoon. Deputies tracked Figueroa to a residence around 1:15 p.m., but the suspect took off on a motorcycle, reaching high speeds to evade capture.

After losing the deputies, he ditched the bike and disappeared into a dense wooded area on foot.

The standoff finally ended when deputies reached out to the suspect’s mother, according to News 6. She spoke with her son and eventually convinced him to surrender to the authorities waiting at the woodline.

Figueroa was booked into the Osceola County Jail and is being held on no bail. He faces a long list of felony charges, including attempted murder, aggravated battery, discharging a firearm in public, armed burglary, child neglect, grand theft, criminal mischief, and robbery with a weapon.
