FBI Director Kash Patel launched a scathing attack on MSNBC Saturday, labeling the network an “ass clown factory of disinformation” after one of its legal analysts appeared to criticize reports that an agent was disciplined for failing to arrange a “perp walk” for former Director James Comey.

Patel’s outburst on X was directed at Barb McQuade, a former U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Michigan and an MSNBC legal analyst. McQuade had posted on X, stating that the Department of Justice (DOJ) policy prohibits “perp walks” in front of news media.

This post followed multiple reports on Friday alleging that the FBI, under Patel’s leadership, had relieved an agent of duty for failing to arrange a public arrest photo opportunity for former Director James Comey.

While not directly denying the reports of the agent’s termination, Patel framed the incident as a matter of internal discipline. “In this FBI, follow the chain of command or get relieved,” he wrote.

Patel then sharply pivoted to criticize MSNBC’s perceived past coverage of similar incidents involving conservatives. “MSNBC still an a*s clown factory of disinformation,” Patel wrote. “Same circus animals that slobbered all over perp walks of Stone, Navarro, Bannon… MSNBC has no facts and no audience.”

He doubled down on the accusation that the network had previously “slobbered all over” the public arrests of conservative figures. Political consultant Roger Stone and journalist Steve Baker both responded to Patel’s post with images of their own high-profile arrests that were circulated in the media.

The exchange comes as former FBI Director James Comey faces legal troubles, having been indicted on September 25th for lying to Congress and obstructing a congressional investigation.
