The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) successfully thwarted a “potential terrorist attack” in Michigan and arrested multiple individuals allegedly plotting a violent incident over the upcoming Halloween weekend, according to a statement from FBI Director Kash Patel.
Director Patel shared the news Friday on X, stating, “This morning the FBI thwarted a potential terrorist attack and arrested multiple subjects in Michigan who were allegedly plotting a violent attack over Halloween weekend.”
The director did not immediately release details regarding the specific nature of the alleged plot, the identities of the arrested subjects, or the planned target. However, he confirmed that the arrests were the culmination of an operation to neutralize the threat before it could materialize.
Patel concluded his post by commending the efforts of law enforcement: “Thanks to the men and women of FBI and law enforcement everywhere standing guard 24/7 and crushing our mission to defend the homeland.”
The FBI field office in Detroit has not yet issued an official statement, but the announcement highlights ongoing vigilance against domestic and international threats, especially around major holidays and events.
