A woman’s body was found wrapped in a trash bag off Florida’s Gulf Coast over the weekend, and the FBI is now leading the investigation.

The USCG confirmed the body, wrapped in a plastic trash bag, was found in the water 13 miles out from Egmont Key, at the mouth of the Tampa Bay, at about 12:40 p.m. on Saturday.

Witnesses said they were spear-fishing when they went for a dive. As they headed to the next spot, they found the trash bag. They tried to pick it up but quickly realized it was not trash.
