Federal investigators are hoping to get tips on the suspicious death of a young woman found hundreds of miles from her Florida home.
The FBI’s Richmond Field Office announced a $20,000 reward this week for information leading to an arrest and conviction in the death of 23-year-old Meredith Rose Walker.
Walker’s timeline presents a multi-state puzzle that investigators are trying to piece together.
She was last seen alive on May 30, 2025, in Orlando, Florida. At the time, she was wearing a red jacket and blue jeans. Detectives believe she may have been hitchhiking north along the Interstate 95 corridor.
Her remains were discovered in Emporia, Virginia, in early June, just days after she was last seen in Florida.
To generate new leads, the FBI is leveraging the Thanksgiving travel rush. Digital billboards featuring Walker’s photo will be active along I-95, spanning the route from Richmond down to Orlando. The hope is that a driver who traveled that same stretch of highway in late May might recognize her or recall seeing something unusual.
This is an active joint investigation between the FBI Richmond Division and the Emporia Police Department.
How to Help Authorities are urging anyone with information regarding Walker’s movements or death to come forward, regardless of how small the detail may seem.
