CITRUS COUNTY, Fla. – The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) District 7 has issued a lane closure summary for Citrus County, alerting motorists to impending traffic disruptions on US 19 and SR 44 from Sunday, June 29th, through Thursday, July 3rd, 2025. These closures are scheduled just days before the Independence Day holiday, potentially impacting local travel plans.
Motorists traveling on US 19 from S. Jump Court to W. Fort Island Trail should prepare for periodic lane closures throughout the week. Daytime closures are scheduled from Monday, June 30th, through Thursday, July 3rd, operating from 7 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Additionally, nighttime lane closures will be in effect from Sunday, June 29th, through Wednesday, July 2nd, with hours from 6:30 p.m. to 7 a.m.

Even more significant impacts are expected on SR 44, specifically from US 41 to the Sumter County line, encompassing the bridge over the Withlacoochee River. This section will experience around-the-clock lane closures beginning at 7 a.m. on Monday, June 30th, and continuing until 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, July 3rd.
