A medical emergency involving a young child in Missouri has led to felony charges against a local woman after investigators discovered the minor had been exposed to a cocktail of lethal drugs.
Officers from the St. Ann Police Department were called to a Missouri residence at approximately 6:11 p.m. on April 19, 2026. What began as a standard medical call quickly shifted into a criminal probe when authorities found evidence that illegal narcotics played a role in the child’s deteriorating health.
Medical testing later confirmed the juvenile had been exposed to both fentanyl and methamphetamine. The child was rushed to a nearby hospital for emergency treatment, where they remain in critical condition as of this week.
Following the investigation, Jaslyn Crawford was arrested and charged by the St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office.

She faces one count of first-degree endangering the welfare of a child, causing serious physical injury, which is a Class B felony, and a second count of first-degree endangering the welfare of a child by creating a substantial risk, a Class D felony.
A judge set Crawford’s bond at $250,000. The court specified that this is a cash-only bond, meaning the standard 10% payment option is not available for her release.
