CITRUS COUNTY, Fla. – A violent collision between two heavy commercial trucks early Thursday morning ended with one vehicle engulfed in flames and the other lodged inside a mobile home.
The crash occurred just as the sun was coming up, around 6:00 a.m., along Lecanto Highway near North Paradise Point. According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a 25-year-old man from Seymour, Tennessee, was driving a single-unit pumping truck behind a garbage truck driven by a 30-year-old Citrus Springs man.
Troopers say the garbage truck slowed down to make a left turn onto North Paradise Point. The driver of the pumping truck failed to slow down in time, slamming into the back of the garbage truck.

The force of the impact caused chaos on the roadway. The pumping truck overturned and immediately caught fire. Meanwhile, the garbage truck was propelled forward off the road, where it crashed directly into a mobile home at 7035 North Paradise Point.
Despite the severity of the wreck and the resulting fire, troopers reported no serious injuries.
The driver of the pumping truck suffered only minor injuries and was taken to a local hospital. The driver of the garbage truck was unhurt. Two adults inside the mobile home at the time of the crash also escaped without injury.
The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
