A tractor-trailer overturned and caught fire on an interstate exit ramp Tuesday morning in St. Petersburg.

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – A morning commute turned chaotic today after a tractor-trailer crashed and burst into flames on a Pinellas County highway exit ramp. The Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) reported the incident occurred at approximately 7:20 a.m. on the exit ramp from northbound I-275 to SR-690.
According to the FHP report, a tractor-trailer was traveling westbound on the ramp when the driver failed to negotiate a curve. The vehicle overturned, and a fuel leak quickly ignited, engulfing the truck in a fiery blaze.
The yet-to-be-identified male driver was rescued from the wreckage and transported to a nearby hospital with serious injuries. His current condition is unknown.
